Frogged!!!

My first attempt on circular needle is sucessfully frogged!!!
I thought I didn't twist the first round, but I did!
Got to start all over again...

Entrelac and Fair Isle

I was amazed when my friend, Yanti made herself an entrelac scarf. It looks so gorgeous and complicated. One of my fearless knitting for this year will be added by this. I found a nice clear tutorial here.

Fair Isle, the method using two or more colours is also tempting to give a try. Here's a blog to be read.

Right now I'm knitting the the scarf which I'm obsessed with:P and the Knitted Kitty. The third fingerless gloves have to wait for a while.

Weekend Project

I want to wear something special and self made for my friend's wedding next month. I found this easy pattern from Knitter's review, called Spiral scarf. It's super easy and I directly made it with the glittered white yarn I bought in Oostende.

It turned out to be a really nice scarf. Too bad I didn't use circular needles and I only got 84 cm of this. It's long enough to be an accesoire though.

Obsessed?

I dreamed about this scarf 2 nights ago and woke up at 7 on saturday morning, directly continued knitting another fingerless glove.

Am I obsessed (on knitting)?

Third FO

This project is actually very fast If I just stick to it, but I always make more than one project in the same time. This is my third FO this year and second pair fingerless gloves from from gettingpurlywithit. I prefer this one than the previous since it's longer and warms my pulse.

I've been looking for something that I can wear for my friend's wedding next month. Something easy, beautiful and can use the glittering white yarn that I bought in Belgium last month. During my searching process, I realize what fearless knitting means and I have to say, it's not easy to be fearless!!!

First FO's in 2008

Finished the drop stitch scarf for my best friend. It's been washed and dried too. Hope she likes it.

Yesterday I was in the mood for finishing something fast and little. So I used the clueless dark blue yarn and tried out my first bamboo needles.

Right now I'm knitting the basketweave gloves and ready to find another project.

Knitting Fearless 2008 and The Journey

It stands on the newsbrief of Knitting daily: Knitting fearless 2008.

I started knitting in October last year, when my friend Wendy sent me email and told me about her new finding: knitting. She teaches herself through videos on internet and books from the library. I only knew crochet a little, my mother taught me. Unfortunately I was not hooked with it and got more interested into cross stitch.

Due to my study, I stopped all the creative activities, until I read Wendy's email. Her enthousiasm poisoned me and together we've been learning knitting. I have to say that knitting soothes me. If I'm tired after work, I can just grab my project and it's like a yoga exercise, it makes me relax and warm.

Another thing is the beauty of colors, one that I've always wanted to explore and learn. Another friend of mine, Yasmina, has the eyes for beautiful colors around her. Looking at her knitting pictures makes me jealous. She's also the other person who's responsible for my new addiction.

Ravelry makes it worst. Since I was able to enter the community, there's no day goes by without me looking around and getting inspiration from other's projects.

My knitting resolutions for this year are:
- try bigger projects like sweater or vest
- try knitting with dpns (double point needles) like making socks
- learning crochet again, especially in the summer when it's too hot to knit
